Real images and dimensions of a property, inspiration photos and a “wants and needs” list was provided prior to beginning the project. Students were able to create a planting design as they wished, keeping the client in mind. This was the first full application of graphics, leaders and lettering on a design. Students were given a basic planting design and asked to draw graphics using learned techniques, principles and horticultural knowledge.

Students were provided a faded image of a front yard and asked to draw shapes indicating the layers and dimensions envisioned for the space.

The second steph in this exercise included applying graphcs to both aerial and street-level views.
